  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.33331999182701 cup shortening
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth

Instructions

  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until a stiff dough forms.
  • Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Cut into 1-inch squares, diamonds, or strips.
  • Bring chicken broth to a boil in a saucepan. Carefully add dumplings and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover tightly and cook until tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
