- •½ cup butter
- •1 ½ cups dark chocolate
- •4 tablespoons orange marmalade
- •4 tablespoons malt extract
- •4 tablespoons molasses
- •½ cup honey
- •½ cup golden syrup
- •1 cup dark brown sugar
- •4 large eggs
- •1 cup plain flour
- •1 orange, for topping
- •½ cup unsalted butter
- •½ cup raw aniseed stars
Instructions
- Preheat an oven to 160*C
- For the topping, slice the orange into thin circular pieces, then halve. In a pot, melt 100g butter and toss orange slices and aniseed stars in melted butter, cooking for 5-8 minutes. Set aside on a paper towel to drain.
- For the brownie, melt the butter, dark chocolate, orange marmalade, malt extract, molasses, honey, golden syrup and brown sugar together in a pot. Stir until a smooth melted liquid is formed.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 10-15 mins. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring quickly after each egg. Then, add flour and stir quickly.
- Pour batter into a greased baking tin and top with prepared orange slices and aniseed topping.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
- Serve warm.
