  • 3 ¼ cups AP flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • milk, semi skimmed
  • 2 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  • Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder and once sifted, add sugar.
  • Then, add milk until you achieve a dough-like consistency.
  • Sprinkle the surface lightly with flour and roll out your dough to ½-inch thick.
  • Once rolled out, sprinkle it with cheese. Once the dough is covered with cheese, fold over into a large rectangle and press the edges to seal the cheese in.
  • Then, flip the dough over, flour, roll out to ½-inch thick and cut into small circles.
  • .Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry circles on medium to high heat until golden brown and hollow.
  • Drain and serve warm.
