Ingredients

- •6 cups water
- •1 cube chicken bouillon
- •1 pound dried black-eyed peas, sorted and rinsed
- •8 ounces diced ham
- •4 slices bacon, chopped
- •1 onion, diced
- •1 red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, and diced
- •1 jalapeno chile, seeded and minced
- •2 cloves garlic, diced
- •1.5 teaspoons cumin
- •1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- •0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- •salt, to taste
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Pour water into a slow cooker; add bouillon cube and stir to dissolve.
- Stir in black-eyed peas, ham, bacon, onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, garlic, cumin, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt.
- Cover and cook on Low until beans are tender, 6 to 8 hours.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
