  • nonstick cooking spray, for greasing
  • 1 12-ounce tube refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb cooked sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Cut each biscuit into 8 pieces.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, pepper, and salt.
  • Make the gravy: Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, salt, and pepper until the flour is well-incorporated and the raw flavor has cooked out, then slowly pour in the milk. Increase to medium-high, bring to a simmer, stirring until gravy is thickened.
  • Layer the biscuits, sausage, cheese, egg mixture, and gravy in the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, until the eggs on the bottom are cooked.
