- •1 large head broccoli
- •⅓ cup panko bread crumbs
- •⅓ cup chopped fresh chives
- •⅔ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- •1 clove garlic, minced
- •½ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
- •¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- •1 large egg
Instructions
- Grate the broccoli on the large holes of a box grater.
- Transfer the grated broccoli to a medium bowl and season with ¼ teaspoon of the salt, then toss to combine. Let the broccoli sit for 20 minutes until the salt has drawn out some of the moisture.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour the broccoli into a clean kitchen towel and twist to squeeze out as much liquid as possible
- Return the grated broccoli to the bowl and add the panko, chives, cheddar, garlic, remaining ¼ teaspoon of salt, the black pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into 15 tots and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-24 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
- Serve with your choice of dipping sauce.
