Ingredients

- •1 tablespoon sesame oil
- •4 cloves garlic, minced
- •½ sweet onion, minced
- •¼ cup brown sugar
- •1 lb shrimp
- •¼ cup soy sauce
- •¼ cup water, plus 1 tablespoon
- •10 sprigs fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
- •10 sprigs fresh cilantro
- •1 tablespoon cornstarch
- •1 tablespoon lemon juice
- •4 drops fish sauce
Instructions
- First, add sesame oil to a pan on medium heat. Then, add garlic and onion and let them fry until slightly golden. Once sauteed, add brown sugar and stir, being careful not to let the sugar burn.
- Next, add the shrimp to the pan and cook on medium heat.
- Add the soy sauce, ¼ cup water, parsley and cilantro and let it simmer in the pan.
- Now mix together 1 tbsp cornstarch and 1 tbsp water to make a slurry and add it to the pan - stir until contents thicken. Then, finish the dish off with lemon juice and fish sauce.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
