  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 dash vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Add to shortening mixture and beat until combined. Mix in buttermilk and vanilla. Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
