  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup sherry
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon Chinese 5-spice powder
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Mix ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, sherry, hoisin sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, ginger, 5-spice powder, and pepper in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook and stir until flavors combine, 10 to 15 minutes.
