- •5 cups water
- •9 cups milk
- •1 cup rice flakes
- •1 cup sugar
- •1 teaspoon ghee
- •8 cardamom seeds, (ground into a fine powder)
Instructions
- Take a pot of boiling water (~4 litres boiling water) and add ada.
- Turn off the heat and rest for half an hour. Then, filter the water and wash the ada 3 or 4
- Place a thick, sturdy pot on high heat and add ½ litre of water. Bring to a boil.
- Then, add 2 litres of milk. After reaching a rolling boil, add 1 tbsp ghee and 2 tbsp sugar 5. Stir until the milk becomes light brown, at which point, lower the heat to low heat. The quantity of the milk will have reduced to ⅓ its original volume and the consistency should be thicker.
- At this point, filter the water containing the ada and add to the pot.
- Boil on high heat, adding cardamom powder boil until you reach a thick, pudding-like consistency.
- Finally, add sugar and take off heat. Stir and keep covered for 30 minutes to allow ingredients to mix.
- Mix well and serve.
