  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in coconut and pecans. Let stand, stirring occasionally, for 30 to 45 minutes before using.
