  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
  • 0.75 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch pan.
  • Whisk together cake mix, eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, and water in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Pour 1/2 of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over batter.
  • Pour remaining batter on top; gently swirl batter a few times with a table knife.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 40 minutes.
  • Make icing: Stir together confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth and runny.
  • Pour over hot cake; allow to cool before serving.
