- •3 tablespoons boiling water
- •0.75 cup white sugar
- •3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- •1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- •0.125 teaspoon salt
- •4 cups fresh blackberries, rinsed and drained
- •1 tablespoon lemon juice
- •2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Make the pastry dough: Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter. Add boiling water to the flour mixture. Stir until mixture comes together in a ball. Divide dough in half and roll out two crusts. Place the bottom crust into a 9-inch pie pan.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Prepare the filling: Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Mix with berries. Place berry filling in the unbaked pie crust. Sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with butter.
- Fit and seal the upper crust.
- Bake on the lower shelf in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
