Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground mace
  • 2 pounds butternut squash - peeled, seeded, and cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 2 large apples - cored, and cut into 1/2 inch slices

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Stir together brown sugar, butter, flour, salt, and mace in a bowl.
  • Arrange squash in an ungreased 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with slices of apple, then sprinkle with brown sugar mixture. Cover with a lid or aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until squash is tender, 50 to 60 minutes.
