Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 dash hot pepper sauce, or to taste
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2.5 pounds boneless pork loin roast

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients.
  • Mix water, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, pepper, salt, garlic powder, and hot sauce together in a bowl.
  • Arrange onion slices evenly over the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Place roast on onions and pour sauce over top.
  • Cover and cook until pork is slightly pink in the center, on Low for 6 to 8 hours or High for 3 to 4 hours. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
