  • 1 pound Italian sausage (casings removed), or extra lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 (28 ounce) can CONTADINA® Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can CONTADINA® Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  • Cook sausage, onion, and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat until sausage is browned and crumbly and onion is translucent, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, oregano, basil, salt, and sugar; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
