  • 1 medium head red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 quart water
  • salt to taste
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • 0.5 cup vinegar
  • 0.25 cup butter

Instructions

  • Place cabbage in a medium saucepan. Add water and salt and bring to a boil. Stir in brown sugar and caraway seeds; cook until cabbage is tender, about 12 minutes. Drain.
  • Toss cabbage with vinegar and butter in a medium bowl until thoroughly coated.
