- •1.5 cups milk
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
- •0.5 cup dry bread crumbs, browned in butter
- •20 asparagus tips
- •5 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
Instructions
- To make the white sauce: Melt butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat; stir in flour, then milk. Cook until thickened and season with salt and pepper.
- To make the casserole: Spread 1/2 of browned bread crumbs in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add layers of asparagus and chopped egg, alternately. Pour white sauce over all and top with remaining bread crumbs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
